Pree,how exactly have you achieved the textured effect in this painting?I am particularly intrigued by the background--did you first paint it red and then touched it with black?
Shaili, its actually a red-brown background. I just held the brush at a 90 degree angle on the paper and started dabbing the paint on it. Just random dabs at a straight angle, make sure you cover all the paper. I did this essentially for the whole painting. Except for the parts in white and the outlines. Try it and see if it works for you. Do a patch test first maybe?

ReplyDeleteI like doing such work too and have made a few Jamini Roy copies , most of them gifted away ...though i have a few made on cloth..batik .
