Homemade Tandoori Wings on Handmade Platter

This post can be a little confusing. I am not sure if the Tandoori Wings were better or the Platter I made at Pottery School is. I’ll let you decide. Please do not be biased.

 

Okay now, its time to focus on the Tandoori Wings. I used the little dip bowl for some fresh salad.

Do you notice the Indian motifs on the edges? They were hand-pressed with hand carved wooden blocks (used for fabric usually).

I also love the warm green I have used on the outer ring. The only thing that I am not too happy about is the color of the little bowl, which I slipped, scored and attached to the plate. I was experimenting with the under-glaze and it hasn’t turned out the way I had visualized it to be.

But you live to learn…

Hopefully my next chip and dip platter will be perfect. Handmade and perfect? Quite an oxymoron. The joke with my platter inauguration with my husband now is, now you can serve food in what you handmade!

Durga Encore, Random Women & Two Little Girls

I am usually up to date on my activities in the kitchen or outside it! I painted these some weeks ago. They probably got buried under all those Spring posts I was doing.

The last two Frida-faced little girls are copies from an artist called Tascha.

Lighting Up My Life

I am falling in love with the world through my camera all over again. The trick of light and the deliciousness of the shadows draw unparalleled value to some rather uneventful days of my life.

Sharing with you some bright (some not so!) updates from my camera captures.  I think I will now droop off to sleep with my eyes shut and the aperture of my camera open!

Roses Are Red, And They Are Pink And Blue Too!

Wonder how many poets have written paeans about the eloquence of the Rose. However, I will not attempt any such thing here (in case you were contemplating a quick scoot from PreeOccupied).

Instead I leave you to enjoy photographs of accents and decorations done with roses. These pictures were clicked at the Canada Blooms, Toronto, which is a four-day annual event to usher Spring in.

Its minus one degree here today and dull and gloomy outside, I am looking and relooking at the pictures from yesterday to cheer myself up. Looks like its working…

Spring Has Sprung!

I am welcoming Spring which officially kicks in tomorrow-March 21, with these photographs I took at Canada Blooms today.       I will continue to post some more theme-based photographs in my next few posts as soon as I recover from the dazzle of colors @ Canada Blooms.
